Left-click to bring up to full size, then right-click to copy to your computer. Add text using any graphics programme (don't forget to flatten when finished, and save as a jpg). Or use the code below. Don't click to resize, and if you need to centre the header, just use my tutorial.

MY FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE

This week on Pink Saturday, the theme is Favourite Christmas Movies. Mine is perhaps a lesser-known one: The Lemondrop Kid, starring Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell.

Bob is a gambler and a con artist, needing to raise some money FAST - so invents The Old Dolls' Home, a charity and residence for old dolls (little old ladies to you and me). It's brilliant. The BBC repeated this annually for around 5 years or so (this is around 20 years ago, mind) and it had me laughing every single time. This is the film that featured the song 'Silver Bells' for the very first time!

You can still get it on Amazon as one of five films in the Bob Hope Collection and I would imagine it's out there somewhere to hire as well.  Here's a review, giving the full plot.

  2. Thank you so much for the background. I tried to install one from another place and all it did was go behind my blogger one. Too confusing on the html thingy.

I hadn't heard about the movie but I''ll look for it. Take care and Happy Pink Saturday.

  4. Hi Susie -- Thanks for freebies! I've visited for a while and like your blog and blog name. I appreciate the information you give us on freebies. I plan on scanning in some vintage free papers and offering them for free on my blog. I've only been blogging since September 2010, so I have beaucoup ideas and getting to them one by one. Merry Christmas in London. Loved the pictures of the ice storm. Those trees with blowing ice for branches took my breath away. Blessings Terri

  11. Hi, Susie..I am having such a hard time with your blog loading slow and a little jerky. Is it just on my end?? I had this trouble last time I was over. I'm not sure what might be going on.
There is another blog that freezes up my computer every time I go over...wonder why?

ANYway, your background and header are wonderful.
Hope you have the BEST Christmas ever.
    hugs, bj

  12. Hi Susie,

This background is beautiful! I love Bob Hope...he was brilliant, wasn't he!?

All of our roads in the county and neighbor counties are all closed. The interstate system is closed across most of Tennessee and it's supposed to snow through tomorrow night.

Thomas was supposed to leave in the morning to head back to this job he's working but he won't be until at least Tuesday.

This is the first time he's been home for a winter storm so it's kind of fun.

    Have a wonderful {Pink} day,
    Stephanie ♥
