Well, folks, it looks like Blogger is yet again surpassing itself in the annoyance stakes.
I now have no working 'older posts' links on all my blogs! Anywhere you see a pictorial link (which worked fine till a couple of days ago) no longer work, and all you get is an error message.
Here is a link to a fix, which unfortunately doesn't work on any of my blogs - although it might work for you! The only one of my blogs without this problem is Freebies, because I hadn't gotten round to putting on my new link pix. All the others (and I'm using several different templates including Minima and the new Designer template Simple) are not co-operating. And changing back to a text link hasn't worked either!
So you can guess what my homework this weekend is going to be... makes me think I ought to try WordPress again (although trying to use WordPress is ANOTHER major headache... I just want a blog that works!)
What else is [not] happening?
Comments:
I can't seem to leave comments on blogs I haven't visited before, or have rarely visited. Some blogs show my Google ID immediately. Others ask for it - so I click on that, type in the word verification, click to leave a comment... then that's the last I see of it! Go figure, as they say...
Editing
Where has my 'quick edit' facility gone? The little pencil icon has disappeared from all my blog pages.
These were at the top of the page when I look at my blog. Where are they now? I have to SIGN IN every single time. It's getting veeeery tedious!
Am I happy? I rather think not... hence the lack of posts... As soon as I can find/sort a fix out, I'll let you all know.
I've had exactly the same issues with trying to leave comments, though sometimes it is on blogs I have visited pretty regularly! I always copy my comments before even attempting to post them...I've learned Blogger's crappola routine.
ReplyDeleteHere is the thing; they are pushing down tons of new code for all their dashboard changes and this has to be the issue. Give it a while before rethinking W.P.
I hate even trying to comment on those blogs~~half of them won't take my comments.
And yes, I am getting that darned Google sign in prompt everywhere!
Can we just bash Blogger and have some fun for a bit???

Okay, this has to be at your dashboard, because I was testing your links and they all seem to work~~which must mean they are doing section by section of the bloggosphere in the transition.

Oh dear, Susie.. It's all sounds so frustrating, but don't let it ruin your weekend! Hopefully Blogger will iron out all these kinks from their end, and THEN things will look at least a little better???? I'm crossing my fingers for you! Hang in there.. ((hugs)) ~tina
ReplyDeleteOkay, I don't know what to tell you. Obviously, they've not been over at the Studio, or we'd be pulling our hair out (at least, those of us who have any--sorry, fellas!) too. I was dreading the new changes after reading about what it could mean to have their new features installed for us.

And let's at least try and keep in mind this is free. Well, ours is at this time. Blogger may be quirky some of the time, but after the blogging experiences I and my comrades have experienced, it's still top drawer in the freebie world!

ReplyDeleteMy "older posts" link hasn't worked for weeks...but I keep that previous post script running so it's paying off now that blogger has the hiccups {again}.
I keep my fingers crossed every time I go to publish a new post.
Have you posted at the blogger forum with all of your issues? Sometimes it doesn't help but I have gotten some insight a few times by reading through it. It really seems that too much is going wrong with your blogs at the same time, don't you think? There's got to be an answer from someone at blogger ...you'd think so anyway.

How very frustrating! I have always thought there should be a real person available for support for Blogger. I've had my issues in the past as well. Best of luck to you.
ReplyDeletei don't have a problem commenting myself, but somebody who regularly comments on mine, says that the only way she can is my doing a new page and then it is alright!
ReplyDeleteHowever, one thing that really annoys me is that I often find a newer post overlapping an older one, and I cannot find a way around it.
