I've photoshopped myself into this Shorpy.com pic |
Well, I can't believe how the time has flown - last Wednesday, I'm having my Pre-Op examination: nose
A nasty side effect of old age - I've shrunk nearly an inch! I used to be a statuesque 5ft8in and now I'm a tiny 5ft7in - woe is me!And now it seems I've blinked twice ... and it's nearly tomorrow! No food after midnight (sorry, we've had Southern Fried Chicken and made pigs of ourselves but I just had to have it - blow the diet!) then up at 5.30am to be at the hospital well in time for 7.30am. RE the pre-med - at that time in the morning I'll already be half asleep, so I gues that will help...
You won't see another post from me for around two weeks, as I have to keep the foot elevated. So I suppose I'll just have to force myself to read and watch TV etc. Himself will be doing all the cooking, so I won't have to lift a finger, bless him. He's more nervous than I am - I am kind of excited, in a weird sort of way (and worrying how to get up a very steep flight of stairs to our first floor flat - on my bottom, hotching up step by step like a toddler, I guess.)
Wish me luck - back soon (I hope.....)
I really do wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. Make the most of being waited on hand and foot!! It won't last long I bet!
ReplyDeleteLove Jo x
Bless you, Jo. As we speak, Peter's dusting off his recipe books in readiness... You can bet I'll make the most of it!
DeleteRest and recover. Love this photo. Its funny.
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well and that you're home and recovering in no time.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are seeing full recovery in the near future! Perhaps Peter is a better chief cook and bottle washer than my Bob - while he tried his efforts drove me to a more speedy recovery LOL Just thinking of you, hope you are laughing at the trials and tribulations of recovery...of course short pity parties are sometimes good medicine! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time off and set up the laptop. I had a total knee replacement end of November and am still not 100% back into it, but getting there, just wish I could bend my leg better. I know about the plastic bags and tape LOL. But take care and heal well.
ReplyDeleteGlenda, thank you so much for your very kind comment. I hope your knee is getting better too - however much it hurts, physio is definitely the key. And I was recommended to try Bio Oil on the scar: it really works! I have much more flexibility and the scar is less visible every day.
